3, 6 & 12 Hour Workshops Available
"Video Jammin" was born out of my 8 years of teaching Language Arts to elementary & middle school students and the difficulties of trying to incorporate Media & Visual Literacy and non-traditional teaching methods into the very traditional time slots.

This workshop will provide educators with a new look at the possibilities of video and the production process in their classroom.

Teachers will discover how they can turn their students' projects into exciting multimedia events with very little equipment. The workshop explores the three phases of the production process and how students learn the importance of teamwork and consensus building. The workshop models how a basic language arts unit on poetry can become "Video Poetry", a compilation of visually rich images and sounds that students utilize to communicate the mood and feeling of the poem. We will explore how current events or personal experiences can be transformed into "Public Service Announcements" and "Video Journals".

**Digital Jammin’ also available-
Utilize your digital video camera and iMovie 2 to shoot, edit and enhance your video. Create transitions, sound effects, and special effects that add a professional quality to your students’ projects. Learn how to save to CD and to the Web. This workshop merges the original Video Jammin workshop with the new digital desktop editing systems.
